There's a jar of leftover Halloween candy sitting in just about every kitchen in Northern Michigan right now. We'd love for some of it to end up in a care package headed overseas instead.
Right now, our Alpena, Hillman, Gaylord, and Traverse City offices are collecting donated candy to send to U.S. troops stationed overseas. And honestly? It's never too much candy for the people who sacrifice their time away from home, their holidays, and so much more, for our country.
Why We're Doing This
Top O' Michigan Insurance Solutions has been a locally owned, independent, family agency for three generations — and that's not just a line in our bio, it's how we show up. We believe the best part of being "local" isn't just knowing our neighbors' names, it's being able to rally them together for something bigger than any one of us.
A candy drive might seem small next to everything our service members give up. But small things add up fast when a whole community pitches in — and that's exactly what's happening. We've already collected a great haul of donated candy so far, and every bag, box, and bucket makes the next care package a little sweeter for someone a long way from home.
Drop Off Your Candy by Friday, November 6th
We're collecting donated candy at all four of our offices through Friday, November 6th:
- Alpena
- Hillman
- Gaylord
- Traverse City
Stop by any of our locations during business hours and drop your candy in the collection bin — no appointment, no insurance policy required, just a little extra sugar to share. Office addresses and hours are on our Locations page.

To everyone who's already dropped off a bag of candy, handed us leftover trick-or-treat loot, or raided their own stash for this cause — thank you. It genuinely means a lot to see our communities come together like this.
Once collection wraps up on the 6th, we'll be sharing just how much candy our communities pulled together for this initiative. Keep an eye on our blog and social pages for the final count — we have a feeling it's going to be a big one.
