Top O' Michigan Insurance Solutions has been named Keystone Insurers Group's Michigan Partner of the Year — a recognition the agency first earned in 2019 and is proud to receive once again.
The award celebrates Keystone partner agencies that maintain healthy, profitable books of business and engage with the Keystone community on multiple levels. Keystone recently restructured the honor to spotlight agencies focused on long-term progression and the overall health of their business, evaluating partners across four areas:
- In-common carrier volume
- Use of Keystone's resources and services
- Brand adoption and engagement
- Industry leadership and community involvement
For a third-generation, locally owned agency, that combination is the whole point.
"Being named Keystone Michigan Partner of the Year again is a reflection of how much our agency has evolved — and how much the Keystone model has made that possible," said Tyler Bartosh, Vice President of Sales. "At a time when independent agencies are being absorbed by large conglomerates and private equity firms at a rapid pace, Keystone allows us to remain independently owned while still offering our clients the depth and breadth of a national organization. That's a rare combination, and our clients feel the difference."
Since 2019, the agency has invested heavily in its employee benefits practice. Under the leadership of Katherine Rolfe, Top O' Michigan has built a team with the knowledge and resources to help clients navigate complex claims, review contracts, and challenge denied claims for accuracy — advocacy, backed by Keystone's bench, that most independent agencies simply can't offer.
Tyler also credited the people behind the partnership. "The greatest resource within Keystone has always been the community itself. The intellectual capital in a room full of Keystone partners is unlike anything else in this industry. We're grateful for that network, proud of our team, and excited to keep building."
If there's a throughline to the recognition, it's a willingness to keep changing. "Growth isn't a one-time effort, it's a culture," Tyler said. "You can sit across the table from fellow partners and walk away with ideas that genuinely change how you operate. Our team has leaned into that by staying open to change, building on what works, and never assuming we've figured it all out. Our advice has always been the same: be willing to evolve."
Under Keystone's updated program, each State Partner of the Year is now considered for Keystone's National Partner of the Year, which will be announced at the Elevate conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
To the clients, carriers, and communities across Northern Michigan who make this work possible — thank you!
